VEVO EMBRACES HUGGERS

Exec Previously Served at Verizon, Intel and the Beeb

Vevo has named Erik Huggers President and CEO, effective immediately. The veteran exec has built up digital video at Verizon, Intel and the BBC; he succeeds Rio Caraeff, who departed Vevo last fall.

Most strikingly, his appointment occasioned a joint statement from UMG and Sony (on behalf of the Vevo ownership consortium), expressing confidence in Huggers and a commitment "to continued support and investment in the long-term success of the company."

After issuing the announcement, everyone got together and watched the Miley Cyrus "Wrecking Ball" video a few million times.
