FAREWELL TO CHRIS

CHRIS POLLAN, who for the last several years was known to many Angelenos as the colorful proprietor of The Cheese Store of Silverlake—but who also led an even more colorful career as a music tour manager—died on 4/20 at his San Fernando Valley Home; he was 68. Over the years the Rhode Island Native and Vietnam vet served as tour manager for Van Halen, Sammy Hagar and Pat Benatar, and also oversaw treks for Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton, Yes, Billy Idol and Ronnie James Dio. A memorial is slated for 5/17 at 6pm at the Cheese Store. Farewell to a great raconteur and a true character.
