HOZIER STANDS UP STRAIGHT

Taking a stand for equality and human rights in his native country, Columbia's Hozier issued a heartfelt statement of support (in the form of the YouTube clip below) as part of the Irish movement "Straight Up for Equality," which encourages citizen activism and voting in support of marriage equality as lawmakers consider new legislation there this May.

"I firmly believe that the upcoming referrendum is not simply a gay-rights issue or a civil-rights issue, but one of basic human rights," the singer explained. "I think it's one that reflects on all of us, and it's an issue that deserves everyone's involvement."
