There’s the sense of an imminent changing of the guard on this week’s leaderboard. The Top 5 tracks all experienced slippage, though seemingly perennial chart-topper “Uptown Funk” lost just a hair over 1k in its 19th week—talk about long legs. The next four singles, by contrast, made upward moves, the most sizable being the +25% vertical leap of Mark Ronson’s RCA labelmates Walk the Moon, who have the biggest Alt-to-Pop crossover hit of the year in “Shut Up + Dance.” It’ll be fun to see how high this frisky puppy can scamper. We’re also watching the two hit tracks from Republic’s Fifty Shades of Grey ST as The Weeknd (+3%) inches closer to Ellie Goulding (-14%).
Another Republic single, the bumpin’ “Somebody” from Natalie La Rose featuring Jeremih, is making a move, easing up four slots to #13 behind 63k, an 11% uptick. S-Curve/Hollywood’s Andy Grammer has hit the Top 20 with a bang, as “Honey, I’m Good” goes #32-18 with 57k, up 34% week-to-week.
