KID ROCK DOUBLES DOWN

Kid Rock may no longer be a digital holdout, but he remains a champion of physical product, having moved the bulk of his CD tonnage in recent years at Walmart. He’s combined his prevailing belief in physical with the desire to give his fans “more bang for [the] buck,” as he puts it, via a clever promo initiative. Kiosks have been set up in Walmart stores for Bob’s upcoming $20 ticket tour giving all those who buy ducats $2 off the price of his first Warner Bros. LP First Kiss, out today. Clever, no?

The noted populist discussed this fan-friendly initiative and performed songs from First Kiss with his band this morning as he took over The Today Show for three full hours. During a commercial break, he grabbed the bottle of Cabernet below Hoda’s desk and chugged it. Love that Bob.
