With the #5 album, it's clear Sia made the transition from "girl with hidden face and great song" to major artist.

iTUNES ACTION UPDATE:
POST-GRAMMY TRENDS

Beck's Now the #2 Album, Sam's Hour is #3
and RiRi-Ye-Paul Have the Top Track

The iTunes album chart tells the story: The upset Album of the Year Grammy win by Capitol's Beck rocketed the musical adventurer, more than 20 years into his career, to the #1 spot, where it remained until midday Tuesday, when Republic's hot (in more ways than one) new release Fifty Shades of Grey ST jumped it. The film bows on Valentine's Day, and we foresee lots of gifting of the album, plus movie tix, flowers, dinner and/or promotional teddy bears, as a prelude to nookie.

In any case, Beck's Morning Phase has made a huge sales leap, from a few hundred in the week prior to the Grammys to more than 10k on Sunday alone, and two days later it's still showing plenty of momentum, as pople discover its stunning beauty and pass the word along.

Meanwhile, Beck's Grammy-ruling labelmate, Best New Artist/Record/Song winner Sam Smith, has moved up to #3 with In the Lonely Hour. We're pretty sure that album isn't going anywhere for a while, as more and more consumers fall under the spell of that otherworldly voice.

Two big Grammy performers, Ed Sheeran and Monkey Puzzle/RCA's Sia, continue to occupy the #4 and #5 positions; Sia has made huge strides since the show, and though her "Chandelier" didn't take home trophies, it's clear that she's made the transition from "girl with hidden face and great song" to major artist.

The same trajectory (minus the hidden face) can certainly be applied to another of the evening's top performers, Columbia's Hozier, whose very solid album is now #9. The standards set by Hozier's duet partner, the great Annie Lennox, has flown into the teens and presently resides at #18, while the studio recording of "I Put a Spell on You," which she so memorably performed Sunday night, appears on both her own album and 50 Shades.

Miranda Lambert, who snagged Country Album and turned in a sizzling, rock-tinged performance, sits at #20 after earlier ascending to #13.

The 2015 Grammy Nominees comp, understandably, sits at #7. And those charming pop-rock youngsters, ELO? Their hits collection is still hanging around at #28.

On the singles side, another key performance—by Rihanna, Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney--has driven their "FourFiveSeconds" collab to #1, while Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" is #2, Sam's ROTY/SOTY winner "Stay With Me" is #4, one slot above Hozier's "Take Me to Church," and Madonna's three post-show instant-grat tracks remain in the Top 10. Stay tuned!
