ONE-WOMAN WORLD-CONQUEST UPDATE

Taylor Swift, who is not one to overlook the opportunity to expand any segment of her massive constituency, will be among the headliners at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2015, which the station bills as the U.K.’s biggest free ticketed festival. DJ Nick Grimshaw made the announcement this morning on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show. This year’s gathering is set for May 23-24. “When I think of a U.K. crowd, I think of a sea of people that is moving like an ocean—it’s the most beautiful site you could possibly witness,” Tay Tay marvels, as only Tay Tay can, “and I can’t wait to come back. Everyone talks about the festivals in England being the best ones you can go to. I feel like I’ve been missing out—I’m really excited.” The Big Weekend can be seen as the British equivalent to the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but with one significant difference: the iHeart fest is held in the sleepy village of Las Vegas, while the Big Weekend will take place in Norwich, baby!
