CBS and NARAS came up with a novel way to announce additional Grammy performers: via a promo for the 2/8 telecast during the network’s airing of Sunday’s AFC Championship game, which drew 42.1m viewers despite New England’s 45-7 blowout of Indy. The new names—Pharrell, Sam Smith, Miranda Lambert and Tom Jones with Jessie J—were sprinkled in with those of the previously announced AC/DC, Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Eric Church and Ariana Grande. The spot failed to mention Taylor Swift, Mary J. Blige (performing with Smith), Iggy Azalea and Sia, all of whom we reported would be added to the list—but be patient, it’s only a matter of time. Don’t expect to get the news during the Super Bowl on 2/1, however; NBC has the telecast this year.
