Meghan Trainor and the Rest of the Week's Debuts

The week’s major new releases issue entirely from the Sony camp, with Epic’s mighty Meghan Trainor leading the pack. Can her Title hit 200k in sales? It’s been five years since an album has reached or exceeded that threshold in a single week in January—in 2010, Lady Antebellum’s Need You Nowopened with 481k. Here are this week’s key debuts:

Meghan Trainor (Epic) 185-195k sales, 225-235k SPS
Kidz Bop Kids (Razor & Tie) 70-75k sales, 70-75k SPS
Mark Ronson (RCA) 24-27k sales, 60-65k SPS
Jazmine Sullivan (RCA) 27-30k sales, 28-32k SPS
Ella Henderson (SYCO/Columbia) 18-20k sales, 27-30k SPS

Of course, factoring in double-Grammy nominee Trainor’s two massive singles pushes her total up by 40k or so, calculated as 10% of track sales on our SPS (Sales Plus Streaming) chart. Her second smash, “Lips Are Movin,” is currently #4 at iTunes.
