VEVO Wins Comscore

VIVA LE VEVO, ET. AL: UMG and Sony’s VEVO is off to a robust start after its launch last year. Comscore has measured the site as the #1 music destination on the web for the second consecutive month in January, with a large part of that estimasted 37 million total, of course, redirects from major hub YouTube. That news comes on the heels of the dispute between OK Go and EMI about not allowing their new video, “This Too Shall Pass,” to be embedded from YouTube, recounted by the band’s Damian Kulash in a widely seen N.Y. Times Op Ed. column here. Living up to the name of the song, EMI brought in State Farm to underwrite the clip. (2/24p)
