Facebook making moolah

DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Facebook is expected to generate up to $1.1 billion in total revenue this year, based on calculations made by Inside Facebook. The blog said it expected the trend of Facebook doubling its revenues every year—it went from around $300 million in 2008 to between $6-700 million last year—"to continue for the foreseeable future, making Facebook a multibillion-dollar company within the next few years." Brand advertising, performance-based ads and sales of virtual goods are likely to once again be Facebook’s main sources of revenue this year. (3/4a)
