Dark Night of the Soul Release

NIGHT AFTER DEATH: Last weekend's tragic suicide of Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous comes on the heels of an announcement that Dark Night of the Soul, the album he made with Danger Mouse to accompany a David Lynch photo book, featuring the Flaming Lips and The ShinsJames Mercer, among others, will come out later this year after an ongoing legal dispute with EMI kept the music from being released. The book was published, but with a blank CD labeled, “For Legal Reasons, enclosed CD-R contains no music. Use it as you will.” (3/9a)
