Columbia Ups Scott Greer

GREAT SCOTT: Scott Greer will oversee the newly configured Columbia Records Blue Marketing Team, it was announced today by co-Chairman Steve Barnett. The As team leader, Greer will be responsible for directing and guiding marketing and creative strategies for campaigns across the label's diverse roster, including those for Beyoncé, John Legend, Glee, Adele, MGMT and the Ting Tings. The Blue Team will also work on developing and emerging artists such as Broken Bells, Passion Pit, Band of Horses and Avett Brothers, as well as working closely with Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. He’ll oversee all Blue Team functions, including project management, publicity, digital and tour marketing. Scott came to the label last year after 13 years at Epic, where he worked in both domestic and international marketing. "I’ve known and worked with Scott for many years,” said Barnett, “and his passion and dedication is apparent in each project he undertakes. He continues to think outside the box, break the rules and do things differently." Added Greer: "In the new world of Columbia Records, I'm appreciative of this opportunity. I feel incredibly fortunate to be working with such an array of amazing artists, as well as being able to collaborate with the talented Columbia Marketing Team, unquestionably the best in the business."
