Idol musical director to Leno

CHANGING HORSES: Rickey Minor, the musical director for American Idol, will fill the Tonight Show bandleader slot vacated by Kevin Eubanks starting June 7. Idol’s season ends May 26. TMZ broke the news, and NBC confirmed it. The South L.A. native has played the role of musical director for Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and Beyoncé, among others, as well as gigs overseeing the music for the Super Bowl, People's Choice Awards and Grammys.
