Rain Forest Benefit

REIGN FOREST: Last night’s annual Rainforest Foundation benefit at Carnegie Hall, produced by Trudie Styler, featured a tribute to the ‘80s starring husband Sting as well as Lady Gaga, Elton John, Debbie Harry, Shirley Bassey and surprise guest Bruce Springsteen. Gaga performed “Stand By Me” with Sting, then reprised her Grammy medley of her “Speechless” and “Your Song” with Elton. Debbie sang “Call Me” and “The Tide Is High,” while Springsteen played “Dancing in the Dark,” Bryan Adams’ “Cuts Like a Knife” and ended with Journey’s suddenly ubiquitious “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Other highlights included Elton’s cover of the Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Summer in the City” with John Sebastian and Chic performing “Le Freak” with Nile Rodgers.
