Bob Mercer Remembered

REMEMBERING BOB: Industry maverick Bob Mercer, legendary for his anecdote-filled expense account lunches, was remembered by some of his EMI colleagues at a memorial service spilling over Studios A and B at the Capitol Tower yesterday. EMI Music President North America Colin Finkelstein and President Music Services/COO Ronn Werre recalled how Mercer, who created and ran the Now series, revolutionized the marketing of records on TV. Among those on hand to reminisce were Roger Ames and David Munns, both of whom he mentored at EMI U.K., along with Bhaskar Menon and Luke Lewis, surrounded by poster-sized photos of Mercer through the years.
