3m iPads in 80 days

THE RICH GET RICHER: Apple says it has sold its 3 millionth iPad yesterday, just 80 days after its launch. The milestone prompted a quote from Steve Jobs: "People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives. We're working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month." The company also noted that developers have come up with more than 11k new apps for iPad, which will run almost all of the more than 225k apps available in the App Store. (6/22a)
