Flatts to Big Machine

FLATTS IN THE MACHINE: Disney Music Group will release the new Rascal Flatts album, Nothing Like This, on Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records, with the catalog remaining at Disney. The band joins Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Jewel on the label. The album will be in stores Nov. 16, with the lead off single, “Why Wait,” now at Country radio. Said Borchetta: “We’re honored and thrilled to have the biggest band in country music in the Big Machine Records family.” Added bassist Jay DeMarcus: “We believe this is a perfect fit for what Rascal Flatts is trying to accomplish over the next few years.” The band’s previous home, Disney’s Lyric Street, was essentially shuttered in March, though a small staff, mostly consisting of radio promotion, was kept on in Nashville.
