A TRUCE IN THE ONLINE RETAIL WARS? It appears that the powers that be at the iTunes Store are taking the high road with Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs (Merge). The album’s release is being played up big in the circulating top banner at the top of the iTunes welcome page—despite the fact that Amazon MP3 has it this week at the Deal of the Day price of $3.99. Arcade Fire is #1 on the iTunes album chart, in front of Lady Gaga’s The Remix (Interscope). Amazon MP3 has also slapped a $5 sale price on last week’s #1 album, Rick Ross’ Teflon Don (Def Jam/IDJ), Mumford & Sons’ surging Sigh No More (Glassnote) and LCD Soundsystem’s This Is Happening (Virgin/EMI).
