Deadmau5 at VMAs

DEADMAU5 IN THE HOUSE: Leading international electronic music star Deadmau5 will serve as the house artist for MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sept. 12 in L.A. He has also been named the network’s PUSH artist for this week. “ It’s a wicked honor and privilege to do whatever the hell it is I am doing at the 2010 VMAs, and I am super stoked,” says Deadmau5, who will serve as the “musical maestro” for the show, creating original remixes on the spot. The Toronto-born Joel Zimmerman earlier this year headlined at Coachella, Ultra Music Festival and L.A.’s Electronic Daisy Carnival. Past VMA house artists have included Travis Barker and the late DJ AM, Mark Ronson and Wale. In case you’re keeping track, the VMAs have announced one EMI artist (Deadmau5) and two UMG artists (Kanye West, Florence + the Machine) as performers to date. (8/16p)
