GIVING TONGUE: James Diener’s A&M/Octone hothouse has produced another artist development success story in Charlotte, NC, rockers Paper Tongues, originally discovered by Idol judge Randy Jackson, who’s managing them. The band’s coming off a great run at PoMo wiht the single, “Ride to California,” and is now crossing Top 40, with early believers like Sirius Hits 1, WKSE, KKPN, WXXX, WXXL, among others. They just finished touring with Neon Trees and Civil Twilight, and have scheduled dates opening for K’Naan in Oct.. “Ride” has been heard as MLB All Star Game theme, on ESPN promos, X-Games, The Hills and Melrose Place.
