T.J. Martell Artworks

ART WORKS: The T.J. Martell Foundation has organized Artworks for the Cure, a live and silent benefit auction which takes place on Saunday (9/26) at the Writer’s Boot Camp at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, CA, from 1-5 p.m., featuring works donated by Ryan Adams, Brandon Boyd, Leonard Cohen, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Mark Mothersbaugh, Jason Mraz, Grace Slick and Ronnie Wood, among many more. Money raised will go to the music industry-based non-profit created in 1975 by Tony Martell in the memory of his teenage son stricken with leukemia at 17. Through the years, the Foundation has raised more than $240 million for research. Go to www.2010artworks.org for info on tickets ($75 or $50 apiece for 2), donations and bidding. (9/16p)
