E FOR EFFORT: Digital distributor eMusic is starting to make its mark in the marketplace under new President/CEO Adam Klein. The company sported some impressive marketshare on several of last week’s new indie releases, including 26% of all digital sales on Walkmen’s Lisbon (Fat Possum), 18% on Of Montreal’s False Priest (Polyvinyl), 32% on Superchunk’s Majesty Shredding (Merge), 40% on Blonde Redhead’s Penny Sparkle (Beggars) and 51% of Black Mountain’s Wildness Heart (Jagjaguar). In addition. eMusic sported 26% of all digital sales on Matador’s Interpol album, 34% on Secretly Canadian’s Sufjan Stevens, 19% on BeggarsVampire Weekend, 26% on WMG’s Janelle Monae and 17% on Nettwerk’s Weepies.
