Dangerbird to License Brushfire

LICENSE TO DEAL: L.A. indie powerhouse Dangerbird has inked a licensing deal with Brushfire Records for the latter’s artist roster, which includes Jack Johnson, G. Love, Matt Costa, ALO, Rogue Wave, Neil Halstead, Zach Gill and Zee Avi, as well as earlier label releases from Money Mark and Mason Jennings. Dangerbird, co-founded by CEO Jeff Castelaz and CCO Peter Walker in 2004, encompasses six divisions, including a record label, management, music publishing, merchandising, a recording studio and licensing, the latter of which operates as a stand-alone agency for its own artists (Silversun Pickups, Fritz and the Tantrums, Minus the Bear) as well as The Temper Trap, Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, the Boxer Rebellion and the Vaccines, among others. The management division reps Eagles of Death Metal, Jon Fratelli of the Fratellis and producer Tony Hoffer [Phoenix, The Kooks, Beck]. (1/19a)
