Gary Richards Joins Pulse

RICHARDS CHECKS HIS PULSE: Check Your Pulse has added renowned electronic festival producer Gary Richards to its A&R staff. Richards, whose ubiquitous brand HARD has spread internationally, will bring in the next generation of revolutionary artists, songwriters and tastemakers. Check Your Pulse has spawned chart-topping hits for Katy Perry, Neon Trees and Taio Cruz. The pubbery was co-founded by producer Josh Abraham (30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, Weezer) and songwriters Scott Cutler and Anne Preven (Beyonce, Natalie Imbuglia, Katy Perry), who have turned the company into a hothouse for emerging creative talent. Richards previously headed electronic music A&R for Rick Rubin’s Def American Recordings, creating HARD in 2007 which spawned such international superstars as Deadmau5 and Justice. (1/25p)
