MIDEM Flopping

WHERE'S EVERYBODY? Despite those breathless Billboard reports from Cannes, this year's MIDEM confab is turning into a disaster, with attendance off anywhere from 40-50%. In fact, most of the city's chief watering holes have been depressingly empty. Check out the scenes at usual hot spots Grand Hotel Bar (l) and the Carlton Lobby Petit Entrance (r), which are pretty much deserted. Sad. (1/25p)
