Arcade Fire short film premieres

FIRESTORM: Arcade Fire is having a busy week. Fresh off their stunning Grammy triumph Sunday and a double win at the Brit Awards Tuesday, Win Butler, wife Regine Chassagne and kid brother Will jetted to the Berlin Film Festival for Wednesday's premiere of Scenes From the Suburbs, their short film in collaboration with Spike Jonze. "This album was already so cinematic, we really wanted to use that and try to express it visually as well," Regine said from Berlin in an interview with the L.A. Times. The 28-minute movie, an extension of the Jonze-directed video for "The Suburbs." will be screened at the SXSW Film Festival in March, and released on DVD in May or June, according to the band. When asked what post-Grammy life will bring, Win responded, “It just means freedom.” (2/17a)
