Gaga nixes Target exclusive

A WOMAN’S PREROGATIVE: With her smash “Born This Way” being hailed as a gay-rights anthem, Lady Gaga has canceled a Target exclusive special edition of her upcoming Interscope album, reportedly due to the retail chain’s gay-rights stance. Last month, Gaga OK’d the exclusive after Target agreed to affiliate itself with gay charities. “Our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they’ve made supporting these groups,” she said at the time of the decision. But she subsequently changed her mind after learning of the company's continued political activity. "She and Target didn't see eye to eye on Target's policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT community," a source told The Advocate. (3/9a)
