Friedman named MTV Prez

STEVIE WONDER: MTV has a new President, announcing the elevation of Stephen Friedman just this morning. Friedman, GM at the network since 2008 and the head of mtvU before that, will oversee MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV.com, MTV Hits and MTV Jams. Says Van Toffler, "His instincts and thinking have always led us to tap into exactly what the audience is looking for, resulting in great creative and business success." (4/6a)
