Apple dominates mobile video viewing

APPLE 80, GOOGLE 20: Mobile video ad firm FreeWheel says 80% of mobile video viewing is done on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The report, picked up by GigaOm, doesn’t include sub services like Netflix or user-generated content. Interestingly, the iPad already accounts for 20% of the total, matching the percentage of Android-based hardware, despite the fact that only 20 million have been purchased thus far. But here’s the kicker: mobile video viewing accounts for just 1% of all online video viewing. (5/25a)
