MMJ special KCRW show

YOU WANNA FREAK OUT? My Morning Jacket, one of the best live bands on the planet, will play a special members-only show for KCRW on June 21, the station announced yesterday. The performance will take place in an intimate performance space at The Village, the high-end West L.A. studio owned and managed by industry veteran Jeff Greenberg. Tickets are $125, with all proceeds going to the station, and the show should sell out in a flash considering the room holds only 250 people. They’ll play the 2,700-capacity Pantages Theatre the next night. Said host Jason Bentley: “My Morning Jacket’s electrifying live shows are the stuff of legend. Both classic and eccentric, they continue to defy description and push musical boundaries. We’ve hosted some magical sessions at The Village, but I have no doubt this up-close and personal concert will be one to remember.” Circuital, MMJ’s terrific sixth studio LP, came out yesterday on ATO.
