Lance Bass sells boy band show to VH1

LANCE GETS BACK TO WHERE HE ONCE BELONGED: Given the TV audience’s current fixation with musical competitions, this one was inevitable. Lance Bass is creating a boy band contest for VH1 in which he and fellow veterans of the genre will put together and coach the hopeful groups. Joey McIntyre (NKOTB), A.J. McLean (Backstreet Boys) and Bass' former NSYNC bandmate Joey Fatone. He’s also trying to get Bobby Brown (New Edition)."It's going to be really fun," Bass told New York magazine. "They're all going to form a boy band, each, from the most talented guys in America that I've scouted, and then they'll go head-to-head in a competition to see who the best band is, so it's bragging rights for the guy in the group, for sure." Fun fact: this is the fifth reality show Bass has sold. (6/20a)
