CLOUDING UP ALL OVER: The growing list of companies launching cloud music services has gotten bigger, as Best Buy announces its intention to floatone of its own. In fact, the big-box retailer already has such a service in the U.K. in partnership with London-based Catch Media, which will handle the technology in the States as well. And Catch says it has taken care of the licensing up front. "This is the only scan and match cloud streaming platform compatible across so many devices and all major mobile operating systems supported by the music industry," Catch told Digital Music News. Apparently absent from the plan despite its seemingly perfect fit is Napster, which unveiled the Napster To Go mobile subscription service way back in 2005, and for which Best Buy shelled out $121 million three years ago.
