Malone wants LN to go private

PRIVATEER: John Malone, Live Nation's biggest shareholder, is behind the idea of taking the concert powerhouse private, the N.Y. Post reports. "It would probably be nice for that company to be private for a period of time to settle down and consolidate operations," Malone said yesterday to a pack of reporters in the lobby of the Sun Valley Resort. The Liberty Media Chairman acknowledged several obstacles, including sorting out the finances and the wishes of other shareholders. Liberty owns 22% of Live Nation, but Malone said he’d love to own all of it. (7/8a)
