IB debunks Sylvia Post scoop

SYLVIA WRONG: The N.Y. Post had itself a big music-biz scoop when it reported last week that Sylvia Rhone would reunite with her old boss Doug Morris at Sony Music, charged with resuscitating the Portrait label. Oddly, though, the news was broken not by media reporter Claire Atkinson but by the notorious Page Six. Only problem is, the whole thing was a fabrication, along with the subsequent, entirely gratuitous pot shots at L.A. Reid. So says I.B. Bad in his latest provocative column, detailing movement within the rival camps of Morris and UMG ruler Lucian Grainge as their respective forces prepare for the music biz version of the battle of the century. You can’t afford to miss it. (7/29a)
