Arrests after Sony fire

BURNING DOWN THE ’HOUSE: Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the warehouse fire that destroyed millions of CDs during the London riots, the N.Y. Times reported, citing the BBC as the original source. Two of the suspects, aged 17 and 18, remained in custody, while a second 17-year-old was released on bail. Sony’s 215k-square-foot warehouse in the Enfield district of London is a smoldering heap following the Monday morning blaze, which destroyed about 25 million discs, also including DVDS and videogames. A big part of the losses were suffered by the PIAS-distributed indie labels, including XL, Domino, Warp, Sub Pop, Ninja Tune and Soul Jazz. Beggars Group alone lost 750k CDs. (8/12a)
