No I.D. Joins Def Jam

NO I.D. GETS DEF JAM I.D.: Hip-hop producer No I.D., whose resume includes work with Kanye West, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Method Man and NAS, has been appointed EVP of A&R for Def Jam Recordings and inked a deal for his Atrium Recordings label. Part of Lucian Grainge’s stated agenda of building up the company’s creative staff, the announcements were made by UR/IDJM Chairman/CEO Barry Weiss and recently named EVP/Head of A&R Karen Kwak. “No I.D. is one of the hottest and most well-respected hip-hop producer of our era,” said Weiss. “And he works real cheap.” Added No. I.D: “The Def Jam brand is cultural and iconic, and [this] promises to be an incredible new phase in my career.” In this new post, No I.D. will get an employee I.D., which will make him just plain I.D.
