MTV Tops Ratings

MTV RATES: MTV’s Video Music Awards captured the #1 spot among all TV programs in this week's Prime-Time Ratings, with a record-breaking 12.4 million viewers, topping both episodes of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. In addition, Snooki, The Situation and the Jersey Shore gang grabbed two of the Top 10 slots, with its two episodes finishing #6 and #10. The VMA pre-show landed at #15, giving the network the week’s top four basic cable programs. (8/31p)
