Top 10 workout songs

NO PAIN, NO GAIN ( BPMS INCLUDED): You got to work to make it work, and in honor of Labor Day weekend, we give you the Top 10 workout tracks of 2011 so far. As you might expect, the most popular songs for gym and spin from the first half of 2011 are heavily weighted toward pop hits and dance tracks, notes Chris Lawhorn of RunHundred.com, the most heavily-trafficked workout music blog. But, as always, there are a few exceptions. The most interesting developments are Adele's omnipresence—even in the gym—and the continued crossover between dance and pop. Here's the full list, sorted by beats per minute, based on the 15k votes cast so far this year by RunHundred.com subscribers:

Adele, “Rolling in the Deep” (Jamie XX Shuffle), (105 BPM)
Jason Derulo, “Don’t Wanna Go Home” (122 BPM)
Katy Perry, “Teenage Dream” (Kaskade Remix) (125 BPM)
Deadmau5, “Sofi Needs a Ladder” (127 BPM)-
Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera, “Moves Like Jagger” (128 BPM)
Cee Lo Green, “F**k You” (Le Castle Vania Remix) (129 BPM)
LMFAO, “Party Rock Anthem (129 BPM)
Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer, “Give Me Everything” (129 BPM)
Tiesto, Diplo & Busta Rhymes, “C’mon (Catch ’Em by Surprise)” (130 BPM)
Avril Lavigne, “What the Hell” (150 BPM)

Hmm, looks like the most popular BPM is 129. Visitors to RunHundred.com will find the song selections grouped by genre, tempo and era, as well as monthly Top 10s. The site is free, by the way. Now go out there and work up a sweat. (9/2a)
