Murray trial begins

LAW & ORDER: Opening statements are scheduled to begin on Tuesday in the manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray at L.A. Superior Court. Jury selection was completed Friday by the prosecution and the legal team defending Michael Jackson’s personal physician at the time of his death. A jury of seven men and five women were chosen out of a pool of 100 prospective jurors. Murray, 58, has pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter. He faces four years in jail if convicted. According to published reports, the prosecution’s star witness could be 14-year-old Prince Michael, who is expected to be questioned about what he saw in his father’s bedroom on the fateful day of June 25, 2009.
