Jay Frank Launches DigSin

CAN YOU DIGSIN? Ex-MTV Networks, Yahoo! and CMT exec Jay Frank has launched DigSin, a new model digital music company where subscribers get all releases for free, with a focus on single song releases from new artists and maximizing their listening audience. “DigSin is the result of years of examining the new ways music fans find and listen to music,” said DigSin Founder/CEO Frank, who will announce the venture at today’s Digital Music Forum West in L.A. “We are committing ourselves to expose new songs in a targeted, organic way that enables us to be a trusted filter to music fans.” Frank is also the author of the book Futurehit.DNA, an analysis of how digital delivery impacts listening habits and turns songs into smashes, which forms the basis of his new venture. The Nashville.-based DigSin, short for Digital Single, will cultivate exposure through “a targeted database of music fns who will receive every label release for free in both the genre and format of their choosing.” A DigSin record deal “will be both artist-friendly and flexible, enabling the company to aggressively partner with advertisers and other outlets to expose the music to as wide an audience as possible.” For more information, go to http://www.digsin.com.
