Lamberg to head up UMPG

HAPPILY EVAN AFTER: Evan Lamberg has been named President of Universal Music Publishing Group, N.A., filling a vacancy created earlier this year with the resignation of David Renzer. Lamberg was previously EVP Creative for UMPG East Coast. The move was announced this morning by UMG President/COO Zach Horowitz and ruler Lucian Grainge, to whom Lamberg jointly reports. Said Grainge: “Evan’s appointment sends the strongest of messages to the creative community of just how serious we are about publishing. We’re confident that Evan will continue the important work of serving our songwriters and protecting their interests, further strengthening UMPG as the leader in the industry for years to come.” Horowitz described Lamberg as “a complete publisher [with] great ears, great relationships and innovative approaches to maximizing the many new opportunities emerging in the marketplace.” Commented Lamberg: “I’m thankful to both Zach and Lucian, and look forward to ensuring that UMPG remains the number one music publisher, the first choice for songwriters, producers and artists, and an invaluable resource for our many label partners.” Before coming to UMPG, Lamberg spent 17 years at EMI Music Publishing.
