Quantcast

Grammy talent contest

TO DIY FOR: In other Grammy news, Hitlab and the Recording Academy will team up to give an “unsigned, up-and-coming artist or band” (as the press release puts it) a performance slot at the third annual Social Media Rock Stars Summit on Feb. 10, the Friday of Grammy week. Part of the performance will be streamed live on Grammy.com and CBS.com as part of the live coverage during the three days leading up to the telecast. The Emerging Talent Competition is open to unsigned acts worldwide through Dec. 31. After original music is submitted to the contest's web page (www.hitlab.com/grammycontest), it will be analyzed by Hitlab's patented algorithms, and the 10 finalists will be announced Jan. 9. The winner will be determined by a combination of online voting and a “blue ribbon panel,” and announced on Jan. 25. Hitlab will also have a dedicated blog for the contest winner on Grammy.com.
