IB on big WBR releases

A VERY BURBANK XMAS: This week’s #3 debut of Michael Buble’s Christmas, with 142k (following his 2.1 million-selling 2009 LP Crazy Love), gives Rob Cavallo and Todd Moscowitz’s Warner Bros. a strong shot at another big seasonal album. Could it be Josh Groban big by the end of the holidays? On Tuesday, WBR released the label debut of rapper Wale, who’s en route to a surprisingly strong debut, with 170-180k in his sights. And the Bunny will pilot the year’s final significant rock release with The Black KeysEl Camino, hitting Dec. 6 on Nonesuch. The Keys could be riding a great deal of momentum behind lead single “Lonely Boy,” a one-listen grabber that was immediately embraced by radio programmers when they received it last week. “Lonely Boy” and the rest of the upcoming LP were produced by Danger Mouse, who helmed the Keys’ breakout single “Tighten Up,” from 2010’s Brothers (860k). He produced the entirety of the previous LP, 2008’s Attack & Release. (11/4a)
