MURRAY FOUND GUILTY: An L.A. jury has found Dr. Conrad Murray guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson on June 25, 2009. The superstar’s death was caused by "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with two sedatives, according to the L.A. County Coroner. The prosecution asserted Murray was responsible for Jackson’s death because he authorized the use of propofol to treat his insomnia—and even gave him the final dose. Defense lawyers claimed Jackson could have injected himself and that the matter is a negligence case that should instead be heard by the state medical board. Murray, who was being held without bail, could get anywhere from probation to four years in jail. Now, the attention turns to the Jackson family’s civil suit for wrongful death, which has been filed against promoter AEG. (11/7p)
