FEELS LIKE UP TO US: Now that wasn’t so bad. Led by Adele’s 5.8-million selling 21, album sales were up 1.35% over the previous year, the first time since 2004 the record industry has been in the black. Otherwise, album sales were down 49% vs. last week and up 8% vs. same week last year. Thanks to redeemed holiday gift cards, track sales were up 21% vs. last week, up 10% vs. same week last year and up 8.5% year-to-date. TEA (Track Equivalent Album) sales were down 35% vs. last week, up 9% vs. same week last year and up 3.24% over 2010. So what are you kvetching about? (1/4p)
