Iommi Stricken, Black Sabbath Reunion Still On

IRON MAN STRICKEN: Black Sabbath lead guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma just as the band have commenced writing and recording their first album in 33 years in L.A. with producer Rick Rubin. Iommi is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan, with reports that he remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery. The rest of the band—Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward—will now go to the U.K. to continue recording the album with Tony. (1/9a)
