Adele Will Score 17th Week at #1

LET’S MAKE ADELE: Here’s your weekly Adele update: The British diva will remain at #1 next week for the 17th time, with a total of between 90-100k, which will beat the 16-week mark set by the Titanic soundtrack in 1997-’98 and tie the one set by Billy Ray CyrusSome Gave All in ‘92. That’s Miley’s dad, BTW. Next up for the incredible songbird is The Bodyguard soundtrack’s record of 20 weeks at #1 in ’92-’93. The rest of the chart will look very similar to this week's, with Razor & Tie’s Kidz Bop Kids looking at between 45-50k in sales, while Rise’s Attack Attack! is next up with between 17-20k. Even considering those desultory numbers, with album sales down 12% vs. last week, they were up 5% vs. same week last year and up 6% year to date. Track sales were down 13% vs. last week, up 4% vs. same week last year and up 7% year to date. TEA sales were down 12% vs. last week, up 5% vs. same week last year and up 6% year to date. (1/18p)
