K'naan's Hit Single, EP

SOMEBODY’S OUT THERE: Somali-Canadian poet, rapper, songwriter and resident intellectual K’naan has been nurtured by James Diener’s A&M/Octone label for awhile now. He began to accumulate some serious critical mass with “Wavin’ Flag,” the smash single used as the anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and recently the subject of a lawsuit when Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney misappropriated it for use in his campaign. It sure looks like K’naan has a hit on his hands with “Is Anybody Out There” featuring Nelly Furtado, which was just added to Z100 and KIIS. His new EP, More Beautiful Than Silence, debuted at #8 on iTunes Pop Album Chart and #23 on Overall Album Chart after being released as a one-week exclusive. The single premiered on Perez Hilton, Complex and JustJared. Check the lyric video below. (2/8p)
