Adele Speaks Out About Surgery, Recovery

ADELE CLEARS HER THROAT: Six-times Grammy nominee Adele, who many are predicting will sweep the Album, Record and Song of the Year categories at this Sunday's ceremony on CBS, told 60 MinutesAnderson Cooper that the surgery on her vocal cord last fall felt like “someone put a curtain over my throat.” The interview was her first since October, when a vocal cord hemorrhage forced her to cancel the remainder of her tour. “It felt like something popped in my throat,” she said, describing the sensation that led her to realize something was terribly wrong. The laser surgery cut off the polyp and fixed the hemorrhage, but forced her to remain silent. The whole interview will air this Sunday on CBS, before the awards on the East Coast and after on the West Coast. (2/8p)
